Computer Addiction

It is very easy to be a computer addict these days. Our computers (especially those connected to the internet) are filled with enough distraction and information. Laptops are becoming cheaper and iPods more and more popular. This makes our society tend more and more towards self satisfaction or self entertainment instead of sharing our happiness with one another.
Why play Fifa or Pro Evolution Soccer everyday in front of your PC instead of playing with others in a field ? Why read your Bible online instead of reading with others in Church or Bible Study?
Is this where technology is leading us? Where we lose interest in other people? Where we become more and more anti-social ?
I am an African, where technology is not yet as advanced as elsewhere. We are already losing most of our cultural value. Losing our sense of family. Becoming more and more dependent on technology rather than people to be happy.
One thing should remain clear in our minds:
learn to like people and use things instead of liking things and using people.
You may add in the comment section all computer addicts you know. I will start with a few.
Luckily enough I am not one of them.
