Challenge:The kerawa effect. Day 2, 18 more

Posted by ekwogefee | 30 Oct, 2007

KerawaAs I started writing before, I just launched a challenge on my website : Post 1000 free ads in 20 days on kerawa.com.

In my previous blog post, I explained the initial odds of winning this challenge. As if that were not enough, many things have gone wrong on day 2. It has started making me think that daring to do what I wish to accomplish here might be harder than I thought.
  1. My web host is giving me headache. Nope I won't give you their name. For no good reason they decided to do some maintenance on their servers. This has gotten the negative effect that kerawa.com works in some parts of the world, and in other parts of the world you see a dumb webmail. They have promised things will get arranged later this evening. I hope for my challenge's sake this is true. Couldn't they wait till the 21 st day before doing their maintenance, eh ?
  2. Since my first post, I have gotten 5 more ads. 5 ads per day for the next 18 days will give me roughly   90 more ads. We both know this will not get me anywhere.

Think these two reasons are sufficient to discourage me ? Think again.

There have been positive results though. As anyone starting anything, I began by telling my friends around me. I want to believe I have helped a friend's junior brother have a small part time job and I have bought a game cd from another friend, just by using kerawa.com. But I have been such an introvert that I have a limited number of friends. I may need more than close friends here to win this challenge.

So to attract visitors, I am thinking of doing two extra things.

1- Send spam and incite Africans to place their free ads.
Hey did I hear spam ? Yeah you heard it well. But I won't call it spam. I want to make many Africans aware of this great service I feel will be beneficial to them. Yeah I think I will go ahead with this.

2- Secondly, I am thinking of adding a "Hall of Fame" on the site. This hall of fame will constitute all those that would have helped me win this challenge. I will be contacting the first people who would have helped me reach this challenge by posting free ads and putting them in a privileged section in my website, The Kerawa Hall of Fame. Or the "Kerawa 1000". I don't know which one will sound better. Maybe right now it will have no value. But think of what will happen when kerawa.com really starts kicking off. Wouldn't you want to boast to your friends, telling them that YOU WERE AN AFRICAN E-PIONNEER, or you are part of the Kerawa Hall of Fame?

3- I think there is something I am doing wrong here. I am not even mentioning the "Kerawa Effect" challenge on Kerawa !!! This has to be fixed as soon as possible. I want to believe that when people will see it on kerawa.com itself, they might be more willing to help.
Maybe all what I'm saying is very naïve. But that is all I could find to do in day 2.

FeeOk Fee , cheer up. Cheer up. This has to work one way or another. One thing for sure is that I won't succeed if you reading, are not willing to help me out. Post your ad for free on kerawa.  Come on, you should have something you are willing to sell around you. A phone, your services, a house, something. Tell your friends about it, better still make them post something.

I don't still know where to really begin. I don't still know who to really see, or consult. All I know is, I don't still have the right to fail. On day 2 out of 20, I am on 31 ads. In 18 days, I have to get 969 ads. I am still hoping to achieve the "Kerawa Effect".
